Capturing Spring in the Dead of Winter: Velorosa’s Partnership with DMACC Photography Students

Launching a new spring collection on the cold heels of winter is no easy task—especially when temperatures barely creep above single digits. But at Velorosa, we enjoy a challenge, whether on the bike or in our approach to showcasing our latest collections. This year, we had the incredible opportunity to partner with photography students from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Photography Program to bring our spring collections to life. With guidance from professors David Purdy, Olivia Frueh, and Alivia Schuring, these up-and-coming photographers took on the challenge of capturing vibrant, high-energy product shots for our website and marketing materials. The students were responsible for filming, framing, lighting and directing, and even photo touch-ups. From adjusting angles to coaxing authentic reactions from our models, they handled every aspect of the shoot professionally and enthusiastically. We believe in fostering connections within the creative community, and this partnership was a perfect example of how collaboration can lead to something truly special. Thank you to the students — Ella Moore, Crystal Lozano, Morgan Goretska, Mack Dreessen and Katrina Smithwho made this possible.

Check out our 2025 Collections, featuring the incredible work of these talented young photographers.

Ride happy.
